When I opened this month’s Glamour magazine I could hardly believe my eyes. There on page 194, clad only in a teeny-weeny thong, was a woman whose body I recognized.

She looked like Every Woman. Gorgeous and curvy, she had a real belly that wasn’t concave or airbrushed and I loved that she had an authentic smile, unlike so many fembot models in the pages of Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar. I was thrilled and it turns out so were many readers, because Glamour’s editor decided to explain just who the woman on page 194 is. She’s a 20-year-old “plus-sized” model who just happens to be a size 12-14. Way to go Glamour!
