Hotel H2O, Manila

Last January 27th, 2012, my friends from the U.S. have decided to visit Philippines. I booked a room for them at Hotel H2O, Manila. Before we pick them up at the airport, i’ve decided to check the room first. I was really so excited to see it because i specifically booked their Aqua Room. Since Hotel H2O, Manila is part of the Manila Ocean Park, i expected the rooms to have baby sharks… lol i know its kinda odd but i wasn’t really expecting the aquarium wall to be just like that… like… there’s no “wow” factor. The room is not bad (pwede na). In fact, it is quite unique and relaxing to watch the fishes swimming back and forth. For me, Hotel H2O, Manila aqua room is kinda small but overall it is unique, clean & again… pwede na BUT there’s a “BUT”. The aqua room rate costs -P-8,296.00 tax inclusive per night NOT including the entrance to Manila Ocean Park. It’s kinda too pricey for a small aquarium decorated room. Hotel H2O, Manila aqua room looked like it is spacious but it’s not! It only look spacious coz of the mirror. And again, like what i’ve said… since the Hotel H2O, Manila aqua room has a unique concept and i want my friends to really enjoy their stay here in the Philippines… i kinda had no choice kasi nga Hotel H2O, Manila is the only unique hotel within Metro Manila.

Hotel H2O, Manila Reception

When i checked in Hotel H2O, Manila for my friends, One thing i didn’t like is that their reception is at the 3rd floor. Opposite side ng Manila Ocean Park. Then you will have to pass by the bell boys’ area then after that you have to climb up the stairs as if you are going to Manila Ocean Park. Then finally when we arrived at the Hotel H2O, Manila reception, of course you will see happy smiles and etc. Then i told them na i called earlier that day and i want to check the room i reserved and i asked if i should pay in full upon check in or what? Sobrang irita na ako because of the long walk from the bell boys area not to mention that they were having a road constructions since i dont know when ang layo sobra ng north parking lot nila, ang init init on the way to the hotel as in SUPER init!. So when i reached to Hotel H2O, Manila reception… all i want to do is pay, check the room, leave for NAIA to pick up my friend. But that didnt happen, and what i cannot understand why are they asking for so many things and making it so complicated eh.. i am willing to pay in full naman on the spot! Took them awhile to process things, you have to fill out a form that looks like a bio data and ang daming tanong, plus they need an ID to scan. Well, maybe it’s their standard protocol to be complicated. For the fact that they are not a 5 star hotel… hmm ewan! I’ve been to a lot of hotels all over the world… Hotel H2O, Manila is the most complicated one.

So, what really happen at Hotel H2O, Manila

After i picked up my friends at NAIA, we didnt go straight to Hotel H2O, Manila. We went to Saisaki, Megamall to have dinner. It was a bad call coz of the traffic but yea, they enjoyed the meal naman. Around 10:30pm we arrived at Hotel H2O, Manila. We all went up to their room for me to make sure that they are comfortable and to see if they need something. We stayed at Hotel H2O, Manila for roughly around 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Since we were there, my friends gave up our “pasalubong” so i can take it home with me because the next day we will be traveling to Batangas so that at the same time the things wont be bulky.

My friend got a lot of things for me, my fur baby, Sabrina and my other friend. To make the long story short, we took down 1 small luggage, 1 big plastic bag & 1 duty free plastic bag with 4 bars of Swiss chocolates in it. The Swiss chocolates was right on top of the big white plastic. We called the Hotel H2O, Manila reception to request for a bell boy to assist us. After few minutes, the Hotel H2O, Manila bell boy named Jairus (i think. Or Jarius. Whatever!) arrived. He started placing all the things in his cart thingy. Then we proceed to Hotel H2O, Manila elevator. Since the elevator can only fit a couple of people and there was some people in the elevator already. The Hotel H2O, Manila bell boy said that he will just take the other elevator. Then when we reached the ground floor everything seems to be fine… Then when we get to go outside… i was following him… i realized… where the hell is the cart thingy gonna pass? I didn’t know that there’s a ramp going to the bell boys’ area. I was so stupid for me not to follow him down the ramp. I waited at the bell boys’ area while my friend gets the car.

The Hotel H2O, Manila bell boy took awhile to arrive at the vallet parking area. But yea, eventually he arrived. He started putting all the things in the trunk. Me and my friend were so tired and all we can think about is going home. Personally i trusted the Hotel H2O, Manila bell boy too much. Everything seemed to be where it suppose to be. Not until we reached home.

When me and my friend reached home from Hotel H2O, Manila. We started sorting out all the “pasalubong” Then my friend noticed that the Duty Free plastic is missing with the Swiss chocolates in it. We checked everywhere and wala talaga. What we did was we started calling Hotel H2O, Manila at around 1:00am up to 2:00am and no one is answering. I told my friend to not to worry coz we gonna go back there the next day to check out early so we will arrive at Dive Solana Resort, Batangas. on time.

Hotel H2O, Manila Manager Confrontation

The first thing we did was to make sure that the missing plastic is not in the Hotel H2O, Manila aqua room. After searching every corner of that room i have decided to call the reception to request for a manager. The Hotel H2O, Manila manager’s name is Jane Soraya J. Ferrer. She wasn’t available at that moment so the Hotel H2O, Manila Sr. Associate named Ricky M. Mau went to the room instead. I told him what happen that night. I also told him that it is not about the Swiss chocolates! chocolates lang yan! (even though it costs around $12.00/bar) It’s about what the bell boy did! he may not have stolen it… maybe it fell somewhere but still! the luggage and the things should be his responsibility. The Hotel H2O, Manila Sr. Associate named Ricky M. Mau assured us that he will relay the issue to the Hotel H2O, Manila manager’s name is Jane Soraya J. Ferrer and he will have her call me back to give feedback.

Hotel H2O, Manila manager’s name is Jane Soraya J. Ferrer called me the same day. She said she will personally look into it and she will ask the Hotel H2O, Manila security to check the security cameras. That was really enough for me. Coz i swear to God that the Duty Free plastic was not in the Hotel H2O, Manila aqua room, not in the trunk and definitely not in my house. None of us remembered taking down a duty free plastic out of the trunk. So it means, sa Hotel H2O, Manila nawala na ung plastic.

Hotel H2O, Manila’s Feedback

Me and my friend waited for 2 weeks for any of them to call for feedback. No one did! So what i did was, i called them myself and yea guess what?! they didn’t find anything daw. So, san napunta yung plastic? They have security cameras all over Hotel H2O, Manila’s BUT NOT IN THE RAMP from the hotel to the bell boys’ area.

It’s just so sad to think that this particular issue happen at Hotel H2O, Manila with 4 bars of Swiss chocolates! Ang hindi nya alam may iPhone4 3Gs sa ilalim ng plastic ng Duty Free! my friend asked my friends from the US to buy an iPhone4 3Gs at Best Buy coz its a LOT cheaper there! Me and my friend even asked the manager…”so, ganun nalang? ganun lang yun? what if yung iPhone yung nawala? hindi niyo mahahanap sa security camera niyo kasi may blind spot kayo sa ramp?” As expected, hindi nila kami masagot about that question kasi hindi nila alam isasagot nila!

This thing can happen to any hotels not only at Hotel H2O, Manila. My advice, do not trust any hotel bell boys. Even if your instinct is telling you to. You will never know. yea?. Do not let your luggage out of your sight. I don’t know how are we gonna do it. But i will make sure that nothing can be stolen from me ever again. I will be more cautious.
